Adult Carers

KCN has developed a range of services to meet the holistic needs of our adult carers.

Our model of support aims to meet the five outcomes of the National Carers' Strategy

Carers will be…

  • Not financially disadvantaged
  • Mentally and physically well; treated with dignity
  • Recognised and supported as an expert care partner
  • Enjoying a life outside caring
  • Children will be thriving, protected from inappropriate caring roles

Although we are in touch with around 4,000 adult carers in the Royal Borough of Kingston, we know that there are many carers who are not accessing any support.

We are raising awareness of ‘hidden’ carers by working in partnership with Kingston Hospital, GPs and social care services to ensure that those carers who need advice, advocacy and support know that we are here to provide help.

Our projects & services

Caring for a loved one can be challenging, but with the help of Kingston Carers' Network, carers can receive the support they need to thrive.

KCN undertake carers' assessments on behalf of the council. Find out more about what they are and whether you should have one.

KCN offers a free Peer Support Service to support unpaid carers.

KCN offers monthly support groups for carers to connect with others in similar situations. The groups provide a non-judgmental space for carers to share stories and tips.

KCN offers free one to one counselling which is provided by both fully BACP qualified counsellors, and trainee counsellors, who are independently supervised.

At Kingston Carers' Network, we understand the dedication and time it takes to be a carer. That's why we offer a variety of social activities and wellbeing services designed to help you connect with others who understand your situation.

Kingston Carers’ Network is the voluntary sector strategic lead for carers and aims to provide a voice for young and adult carers supporting someone in the borough. Share your thoughts on a range of subjects.
