A little more information from Mind in Kingston about this event:

The aim of this Empowering Minds Forum (EMF) is to give individuals with experience of statutory and voluntary mental health services a voice and the opportunity to influence future service development. We want to ensure that what we do at Mind in Kingston meets the needs of our beneficiaries, and we want to support our beneficiaries to help improve other mental health services they use.

At the previous sessions, the attendees identified 4 areas in need improvements and then voted on the one they would like to focus on first: the lack of a general peer support groups.

In the last session we dived into this topic in more detail to identify what exactly this would look like in an ideal world and why this would help so that we can build a case for it. In this next session we will continue that discussion, review the research on if anything similar already exists in Kingston and make a plan to put this suggestion forward. This will be a online workshop style session.

Not been before? Not a problem at all. Please do come along to this session to find out more about the Empowering Minds Forum and how you can get involved. All welcome!

In the meantime, if you have any questions or access requirements, or cannot make it this time but would be interested in hearing more about the Empowering Minds Forum and potentially being involved please email persephone@mindinkingston.org.uk.
